A Chorus of Disapproval

"A Chorus of Disapproval" by Alan Ayckbourn was directed by Nick Roberts. It is a funny, bittersweet tale of manners, misunderstanding and mishap which follows the fortunes of widower, Guy, who joins an amateur light operatic society at the early rehearsals for John Gay's 18th century parody of life at the time 'The Beggars Opera'. Alan Ayckbourn cleverly mirrors Guy's trajectory within the society with the lead character in the piece they're performing.
